Listener Support

This morning--like most others for the past uhh six years--I dragged myself out of bed to tune into more bad news for America. Strangely, my radio was fixed on a station I didn't recognize. "Who ARE these people? What is this Stephanie woman saying about--HOLY LORD she is as disgusted and disheartened and aghast as I am!!" Okay, I'll cut to the chase. I am ON MY KNEES before the altar of KRXA. Thank you, thank you--a thousand times...(hit the pavement, KGO!)
-Julie, Carmel

I wish you'd start a sister station in San Jose!
-myspace.com post

Love the station. I have been listening on-line. If there was a way to put you on my car's radio I would.
-myspace.com post

I'm so glad there's a radio station that isn't trying to brainwash me with right-wing rot or religious propaganda! I only wish you were nationwide so I could listen to you 24/7. I live in Las Vegas and my fiancée and I listen via internet. We learned about you from The Church of Reality. I've made your web page our home page. Keep up the great work and DON'T STOP THINKING!
-Julie, Las Vegas

I just adore 540 KRXA. I listen to it all the time and love its content. Peter B. Collins is wonderful as are all the other radio personalities. It's a great addition to Monterey.
-Carole, Salinas

For the last few months, I've very rarely listened to any other station during my long hours behind the wheel. I'm particularly addicted to Stephanie Miller, Peter B. Collins and Lionel. Please keep up the good work.
-K. Moore, Santa Cruz

I just went to Seattle for the weekend, I didn't even look for the progressive station there. I just tuned into the KRXA website. So, why go through all the trouble? I don't know what it would be like to listen to Stephenie Miller without KC's participation.
-Lawrence

I have been listening to your station for quite a few months now and I can honestly say it has gotten better and better. I really enjoy KC doing the news and updates in the morning, he has a lot of personality and doesn't get boring as sometimes listening to the news can be. I also think it is great that you Hal and your wonderful co-host Vada [have your] own show.
-Monterey Listener

Your station is fabulous, and I remind my friends to tune in. I [patronize] your advertisers and let them know [it's] because I heard them mentioned on KRXA.
-MPUSD Teacher

What a wonderful radio station!!! I cannot tell you how very much I enjoy 540 AM. It is so refreshing, Stephanie Miller is my constant companion on my way to work 5 days a week, and coming home it is Peter B. Collins. I love them both. Finally, there is a liberal voice on the Peninsula.
-Myra

You guys kick ass.
-Melinda

Just want to say thanks for some progressive talk radio around the Monterey Bay. I especially like to listen to Thom Hartmann and Peter B. Collins. Keep up the good work!
-Lee, Ben Lomond

Love the station and the programming. KC Lynch is a hoot!
-Joseph and Michele

First of all, I just have to compliment you and everyone at KRXA540. I really enjoy the programs that you broadcast and it makes it so much easier for me just to go to your site to listen. Where before I was searching around to listen to the host I could relate to. Now I just listen to KRXA.
-Michelle, Cypress, CA

I love to listen to your station and do so all the time.
-Arlene, Silver Spring, MD

I have waited for a very long time to an alternative to the co-opted right-wing media, as it has been since the Fairness Doctrine was abolished in 1988, and every radio in my house is set to 540. I even set my brother in Mountain View with a long-distance radio and external select-a-tenna so he may listen to 540 out of its armchair-copy range. I tell everybody I know to listen to 540 and I make it a point to patronize your sponsors.
-John, Salinas

Thank you so much for all you are doing. My wife, and I, and all our close friends, support your efforts.
-Roy

Thank you for the great radio station we enjoy it tremendously.
-D. and S., King City

In the past I've been a cranky listener, I wanted you to know I'm still tuning in every morning! KC is great!
-A.A., Marina

Just wanted to say you guys are doing a great public service for our area. Great programming round the clock! Stephanie Miller [is] my personal favorite. After so many years of only KGO and the right wing wacko shows, it's great to have KRXA.
-A.G., Del Rey Oaks

KRXA stole me away from being a 20 year KGO listener.
-W

I discovered your station a couple of weeks ago and I can't get enough of it. I've been a long time listener of KGO and now I seldom listen to it because of your great line up. My three favorite hosts are Stephanie Miller, Ed Schultz, and Peter B. Collins. Time certainly flies by when I'm listening to their entertaining and thought provoking shows. Thank you for bringing your great station to the Monterey Bay.
-Michael

Peter - you are my afternoon, drive-time hero! A radio host who thinks, allows others to voice their opinions, remains courteous, is experienced, well-read and well-informed. Aren't we the luckiest radio listening audience in the Monterey Bay area. . . Stephanie is my morning, drive-time guilty pleasure . . . her humor and slant on the news get me laughing out loud on my way to work. . . KC in the morning is alive! Thanks! His style of presenting the news fits right in with the personality of Stephanie's show. He doesn't stop being professional, but adds that jolt of jolly to the morning reports that makes the listener look forward to the next one.
-Diane

I want to thank you for the great radio programs on KRXA, I am checking different time spots and like what I hear. I am especially fond of Doug Basham, find him very informative and entertaining (nice combination), I also like the way he keeps his cool. I had never heard of him, good job finding him and giving him a program in the Monterey area, I feel privileged. I certainly hope that you keep him on. I also like Lionel who's very calm when confronted with angry callers, I admire that, it's something rare for talk show hosts. His program is also quite good. And of course Thom Hartmann is excellent. I will pass the word around. [I look forward] to listen[ing] for years to come.
-Bodhi, Santa Cruz

I am so excited and grateful for a new liberal, local radio station. I am telling many people, writing 540 AM on pieces of paper and putting them in their hands. . . My new favorite "hero" [is] Cindy Sheehan. . . Congratulations!
-Jamie, P.G.

Thanks for your hard work and intelligent dialog. Knowledge will rock the vote!
-Moira

Thank you all for doing this! You are making a scary, hairy time bearable and even inspiring...Just can't say enough about the energy and call to participate that you are putting out. What an amazing thing to be engaged, intelligently!! Here is to deep success!
-Nancy, Carmel

I just discovered your station by accident and am absolutely elated. Thanks for offsetting the conservative onslaught on the airwaves. My wife and I are huge fans and are spreading the news to all our friends!
-D. and K.

New listener and I love your station I have been telling everyone I know about it. You are fast becoming the hottest show in this part of the country.
-Robert

Thank you folks for providing daytime radio I finally can listen to without wanting to run off the road into a telephone pole.
-Kellie

Thanks so very much. The station is doing a great job and I am so happy to be hearing Peter B. and Thom Hartmann on local radio. YAY!
-Susan, Soquel

It's about time. Been listening to your great station since DAY ONE. Keep up the good work.
-A. and L., Carmel Highlands

Just want you to know how happy I am to have a great, progressive talk radio station to listen to. Thank you for being here. I am in my car a lot and was stuck with the SF stations. Now I get to hear my political and social perspective, and have been introduced to new voices. I don't feel so alone and I have hope that open-minded working people can have a stronger impact - the world is not Rush and Fox news. I am telling all my friends and family to listen to KRXA. Thank you for showing that progressive/left can be smart and strong.
-Maria

Thank you, thank you, thank you for bringing progressive voices to the airwaves in Monterey County. Your first few days have been great, with the national hosts calling in during the Peter B Collins show to help all of us new listeners to connect with them. Stephanie Miller’s show is hilarious and helps my wife and I (she is an active-duty Army soldier) start our day with a smile instead of dwelling on the fact that Donald Rumsfeld and the Bushies have broken our Army and the military’s credibility in Iraq. Thom Hartmann is really great as well, providing great commentary backed up with hard facts. Keep up the great work, and I’m already spreading the word.
-Jeremy, Marina

I feel blessed that the station just seemed to materialize out of thin air. I hope it stays around for a long time and want to let you know that progressive AM radio is a very welcome development here. There is a growing and overlooked progressive market around here -- even all the way down in King City where I live. For me progressive AM talk radio is like the Holy Grail. KGO San Francisco has thus far come the closest to fulfilling that niche. Of course I listen to all the NPR and Pacifica I can get, but it's great to have AM options as well. I'll never forget the time I heard Michael Savage arrogantly exclaiming that AM was the exclusive domain of conservatives. It's a myth I am always happy to shatter. And to think I used to listen to KSCO because it was the local AM station!
Keep up the good work.
-Peter, King City

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!
-John

I wish I could listen more often to KRXA - I have been "telling friends" to listen and learn. Thank you.
-Jack, Monterey
