A television and radio veteran with over thirty years of on-air experience, Ms. Byer began her broadcasting career as an anchor and reporter on KATU-TV in Portland, Oregon in the early 70s. Highlights of Ms. Byer's distinguished career include numerous awards for television and radio work and eight years at NBC News in the 1980s as a Middle East and United Nations correspondent. From May 1999 until March of this year, Ms. Byer anchored the five o'clock news at KION Channel 46 in Salinas. A pro's pro, Beverly will report on local news throughout the morning, and will also research, write, and produce longer stories on issues of importance to the Monterey Bay area on a regular basis.
