I like the new logo. I can’t remember what the old one looked like. Sorry, short memory.

  2. Arlen says:

    Awesome logo!

Should of had more input. Left “Coast” talk?-Please explain what Left coast talk exactly is ,or what ur vision of it is. But,as someone who is basically being left behind with this transition, being a AM radio listener my input prob does not matter.
As a true lover and fan of KRXA I think that the name should have stayed based on KRXA. “Monterey” is nice, but on the internet it sounds to specific to one geological area. Not hooking the people in Portland,Seattle,SF,ect. In our opion it should have been a more general, broad based name.
Not sure what we would have called it, and we truly wish you the best, however, there are a million podcast shows on the internet, any assclown can make one about politics and i’m hoping that you did not make a mistake because of lack of patience or profits.
Having your own radio station will aways outweigh your internet presence.
The 2 should be /have been used hand in hand.
You pretty much rebuked the chatroom, failed to have a ustream of your shows and pretty much failed at any integration of new listeners thru social media. I love you as a person Hal,but as a station owner, radio host you have failed us.

How about “Left Coast Talk For the Nation”
      or
“Left Coast Talk Streaming The Nation”.

I agree the term “Monterey” may be too specific but it does help keep the connection to current terrestrial transmitter listeners. If, as I suspect, Hal is unable to keep most of his nationally syndicated programming, the term “Monterey” will be super important as most of the programming and appeal is likely to be specific to the Monterey Bay area. If the content & audience appeal is going to be national, nobody will remember the “Monterey” name as people won’t feel the connection.

I too think the term “KRXA” should not be abandoned quickly (if at all). I think changing the name like this would be like Coke or Pepsi changing their name to “U.S.A. Soda Pop”… a lot of potential buyers would walk out of the store without buying the stuff (but in that case it would be a good thing).

  4. Shawn Mills says:

I am not sure where I stand on this. I put KRXA on in the car. I do not have Internet or satellite in the car. At night, I listen to the syndicated stuff when I can hear it without ads; I would rather pay for content than suffer through ads. I mainly listen to KRXA during drive-time hours due to lack of other choice. As I will not listen in the car any longer and do not want to follow the local programing that will be offered on-line I do see a spot for me. I have loved the station as run by Hal. Could not have done it myself; but what it a guy to do? It is great that he had such a long and am thankful for the years.
