I am always put off when I hear the term “flesh out”. I always suspect the user has been spending too much time watching “Saturday Night Live” and/or in the world of porn.

Unfortunately, I guess it is me that needs to adjust my thinking. Per http://public.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/flesh.html , “To “flesh out” an idea is to give it substance, as a sculptor adds clay flesh to a skeletal armature. To “flush out” a criminal is to drive him or her out into the open. The latter term is derived from bird-hunting, in which one flushes out a covey of quail. If you are trying to develop something further, use “flesh”; but if you are trying to reveal something hitherto concealed, use “flush.””

From the above, I’m still not so convinced that the correct term in the context of Hal’s post is not “flush out”. Most of the time on the station is spent flushing out the evils of Capitalism and being against things more than in “fleshing out” new ideas. When new ideas are discussed, they are usually scientifically, economically, or politically impossible to implement, but that is the nature of brainstorming. (My complaint is that some people just don’t know when to give up on a ridiculous idea.)

Maybe GrammarMan or whatever he calls himself will weigh in re “Flesh Out” vs. “Flush Out”. Maybe “expand upon” would be a better term in order to avoid the issue. I’m certainly no grammar expert; it is all I can do to spell correctly. Perhaps it is me that has his mind in the toilet in preferring to use the term “flush out” instead of “flesh out”. (LOL)

P.S.- You’re using that old template again Hal: “And, every morning at 8:32 or so, we have the Doolittle & Ganos Market Report. Learn more about award-winning Investment Advisor Doolittle & Ganos at http://www.doolittleganos.com

Hal- I was not sure you could change http://www.doolittleganos.com to http://www.integratedwealth.com without also wiping my post. Glad to see you could & did.

Also, you passed my test. I have often suspected you barely read what I send so I put my message about the link error at the bottom of my post. You proved you at least look at what I write even if you don’t take the time to digest the content. Thanks.
